Terrific resource for nursing the soy/dairy allergic baby
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We don't have severe allergies, so I will not comment on how perfect this oookbook is for more serious or complex allergies. Although I think it's worth mentioning that the author does highlight different substitutions, depending on what you're allergic to, and recommends consulting your allergist if you're not sure.

In our case, my 4 mo. old baby has a milk/soy allergy, and because of her other health issues, her nutritionist and I feel it is very important to continue breastfeeding instead of going to a hypoallergenic formula. I've been on the diet for 2 1/2 months now (my daughter's syptoms disappeared) and it wasn't until reading this book that I felt some real hope for a 'normal' diet. I've tried many of these recipes, none of them I found to be that difficult- and they were eaten and enjoyed by me, my husband and our toddler. Some may be a little fancy, but I found the ingredients from our local grocery store (in the organic aisle), and the rest from our local organic food co-op store.

I realize everyone these days is about convenience food- and I admit that it's much easier to whip up a 20 minute meal when you return home from work. I guess I just enjoy cooking because the time involved doesn't bother me, so long as it tastes good. One recipe in the book- a recipe for a red sauce is a great example. You can find an allergen free organic pasta sauce pretty easily from the grocery store- so if you only have 15 minutes to make a pasta dish (and sometimes I fall in this category), than I would buy a jar of that instead of searching this cookbook for a pasta recipe. But if you like the process of making your own food- starting with tomatoes, blanching them, adding in your own fresh herbs- then the recipes in this cookbook would be great for you. My toddler 'helped' me make an entire Christmas dinner from this cookbook and then we all enjoyed eating it. Hands down, our fav recipe is the sausage/dried fruit stuffing. I like the philosophy and idea of trying to eat whole foods, and that meals should be savored and enjoyed- while preparing and while eating :) Happy cooking!

Just Great!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My allergies have been getting the best of me this year. My biggest issue is just a runny nose; I could easily go through a box of tissues in a day (switched over to toilet paper at one point to blow my nose, simply to save a few bucks). A few years ago I started taking Claritin 24/hour, and one pill would do it. Then one pill wasn't enough, and I added a few more... I got tired of that, and went over to Zyrtec. One pill did it, then I needed two, and eventually it just became useless. I was on Flonase this Spring, and it was great, but I wanted something a bit more natural and cheaper. This stuff really does work! I started off with three shots in each nostril, and it cleared me up really well (this stuff does pack a punch)! Unfortunately, I'm susceptible to nosebleeds, and did get a minor one using this product (typical side effect of most nasal sprays). So I'll adjust the dose, and go from there. Overall, five stars.

A huge help!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
For years I've had allergy problems so troublesome that I couldn't leave the house without taking something to relieve my itchy watering eyes, sneezing and headaches. When I tried Allergy Rescue I couldn't believe the difference. I take 2 tablets a day, along with the addition of local honey in my tea, and I am virtually allergy free for the first time in years! (Eating local honey is like getting a natural allergy vaccination). Unfortunately it did not get rid of my sinus headaches as I had hoped, but the addition of a B Complex vitamin has helped immensely. I read that women over 40 are defficient in B Vitamins and develop more allergies, especially if they are in menopause, which I am. Allergy Rescue is a GREAT product!

Purchased, Installed and working great for a year
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased the Honeywell UV light system from a major home supply company as I was having a mold smell in my HVAC system in the summertime. We had the vents cleaned and sprayed with anti mold/fungal spray and two weeks later it was back. We had our HVAC company come out and tell us the coils were dirty and covered with some mold on the downstream side. They would have to remove the entire coil box from our crawlspace (cut the refrigriant lines!!!), break it open, clean it out and then replace the entire unit for the low, low price of $500. Forget it. I bought a can of coil cleaner, put on my rubber gloves and safety goggles and got into the unit from the upstream and downstream sides, cleaned it and installed this unit to keep the mold from growing.

The unit itself comes with the bulb and socket with a plug and good instructions on how to install. You will need to have an outlet near by which I didn't. (Needed to run a new outlet near the install site)You will also need a hole saw that can cut through metal or a saw and a very steady hand. It can be done, just be carefull to cut the hole correctly and clean up the shavings.

Installed, plugged in and working fine. No more mold smell. It's a quartely check of the bulb to wipe it down and make sure it's still on. There is no on-off switch, just plug it in and it's on.

JUST A NOTE: DO NOT PLUG THE BULB IN UNTIL IT'S IN THE DUCTWORK!! DO NOT LOOK AT THE BULB WHEN IT'S ON. It can damage your eyesight. Install the bulb in the system and then plug it in. There is a little blue light on the face of the unit that lets you know it's on.

It's an easy install and does work.

Works Great!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have both a PUR filter on my faucet and 2 Brita Pitchers. My wife and I both agree the Brita is the better of the two. Not sure why, the PUR seems to be designed with a more in depth filter, but the Brita water has a distinctive neutral taste that you expect from water. I have a good source from a deep well, but Iron Bacteria is a problem, and the Brita does a great job of filtering any odd taste out. Highly recommended. Ignore the bits of charcoal that float up, they never get through, and it seems it is just a part of the fine charcoal filter package. They do last the advertised time, and it seems a lot better way to do it, than to have mega piles of empty plastic bottles, and you don't have to worry about plastic chemical leaching into the water you're drinking. Cost effective solution.

Cute & Decent
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my children's room. At first I had a little problem with it - for some reason the water wouldn't bubble into the reservoir even though the unit was completely filled, and the automatic shut-off would kick in. (I use only reverse osmosis filtered water.) After the second week & second cleaning it started working better and haven't had a problem with it since.

I can use my down duvet again!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We had to stop using our down duvet because the down was actually coming out of it even though it was inside the duvet cover. This caused many sneezing and nose-running ridden nights as well as mornings. I was contemplating on getting rid of it since it was just sitting in storage.

After doing some searching online, I found some allergy duvet covers and found that this was one of the least expensive ones. I didn't want to spend too much to find out that the cover didn't work. That would be more money wasted.

I received this cover a few days after ordering and quickly washed it for use. It wasn't very hard to put on the duvet. Actually it was like any other duvet cover. We used it last night and how wonderful it was to use our down duvet again! Just in time for the chilly weather too! I haven't put it inside the duvet cover yet because we wanted to see if it would work so I guess today I'll be fitting it into our standard duvet cover.

The quality is sturdy, seams seem to be well done and zipper is heavy duty. It's not coated with any funny chemicals just 100% cotton.

I'm very happy with the cover so far even though it's been 1 night with it!

Different
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Yes, different. They feel comfortable and soft, but the cloth seems to feel like silk. It feels different from other pillows. Nice but different. I would have given them 5 stars if they felt more like cotton.

What a deal for two wonderful pillows
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These are wonderful pillows! Very soft. Unbeatable for the low price. It is just like getting two from one. Upon first contact they have a resiliency that immediately yields to very comfortable form fitting softness that is just divine. I am using these with the "Pinzon Pyrenees Down Support Queen Pillow" also available from Amazon. Between the four, I can mix and match them to create any type of sleep or reading position while maintaining the upmost in comfort. I recommend these pillows for anyone.

The fact that they are an Allergen-free(both types that I ordered), needs not even to be mentioned. There is NO noticeable difference in either noise level or feeling from other normal pillows. In fact, the outer fabric of the pillow is as nice or nicer than many others I have looked at in the local stores. Do yourself a favor and order a pair(or two). As I mentioned, I love the versatility of two types to use.
